Memphis City Council Committee Meetings: October 20, 2026

And could you look at your next slide?
-
Memphis City Council Committee Meetings: October 20, 2026
8:20
Yes.
-
Memphis City Council Committee Meetings: October 20, 2026
8:20
All right. That's like only a twob block section. Is that what we're looking at here?
-
Memphis City Council Committee Meetings: October 20, 2026
8:20
Okay. What makes us think it's not going to break if it's really old there? A block above and a block below? Why are we not doing that whole area based? So I guess that was my question. I just was wondering because normally all these things tend to go bad at once because they're put in ground time maybe. How old are these pipes that you're replacing in general? The oldest to the newest?
-
Memphis City Council Committee Meetings: October 20, 2026

1940s. And out of the pipes that are in downtown, how many were in the 1940s?
-
Memphis City Council Committee Meetings: October 20, 2026
10:22
Okay. So, as we're thinking about this and we're looking at, you know, uh how we potentially may be able to get some more money into our system to be able to do this, that would be something that is necessary, should be done. And is it in your plans to do? Do we have do we have plans for this? I'm I'm thinking tree cut trimming here, Doug. You know, we're we're looking at what do we do with these data centers and how do we get funds from them?
-
Memphis City Council Committee Meetings: October 20, 2026
12:24
Okay. And part of what I'm looking at is how much funds does MLG&W need for able to extract more funds from these things as we move forward in the future. This is a particular spot that having that information will be helpful as we figure out how we want to ask and what we want to do to move forward. Yeah. Because you're thinking, you know, you look back at the tree thing, you know, and the power line thing, they were balancing that too as best they could on no money.

Councilwoman White and Chair Warren also present. Colleagues, um we are not going to have an update on Mud Island River Parks Partnership after talking with uh Councilwoman Cooper Southern. She would like for us to delay that till the next meeting. So, we'll do that. And uh the first item I'd like to call is item number three, a quick update on the repair of the Raymond Skinner pool. Uh do we have anyone here for that presentation? This is I think going to be good news for people who want to swim there. Uh it is a supply chain issue. I think that has been our downfall. Uh

Okay, that's I think that's a win-win. You have any questions from fellow council member? Okay, if not, thank you gentlemen for that great news. Thank you. Hopefully uh we can put that out and people know they can start going back. Excellent. We have a resolution to allocate appropriate and this is item number four. Thank you guys. This is district six super district 8. Could I please have a motion move by white and seconded by the chair. All right. Um you have the form is p. Do we have any other questions? If not, all those in favor, please say I. Okay. And the chair's eye. I believe the eyes have it. That goes down with a favorable approval for same night minutes without objection. Okay. And item uh our last item is uh updates on park discussion with Memphis Roller Derby on relocation from Pipton Building District 4 Super District 9. This was requested by me at the since we delayed the vote last time. Where are we now director and should we proceed with our vote tonight?

Are you plans on thinking of alternating Davis and Gaston to get into different communities and explore? They would they prefer just to have one?

We we certainly have an idea of of the things we'd like to do that we think are prudent, but again, we're going to have prudence because I know this is a community of many needs, Dr. Warren, and and we want to make sure that we're balancing what we need to, you know, we just want to
